NAEYC Accreditation

NAEYCNational Association for the Education of Young Children, administers the largest and most widely recognized national, voluntary, professionally sponsored accreditation system for all types of early childhood schools and child care centers. NAEYC is the nation’s largest organization of early childhood educators. We are proud to say that we have been accredited by NAEYC for the past fourteen years.

What is Accreditation?

Accreditation means that our school has voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self study, been reviewed by a professional to verify compliance with the Criteria for High- Quality Early Childhood Programs. A copy of this criteria can be obtained from NAEYC.

What should be seen in Accredited programs?

  • Frequent, positive and warm interactions between teachers and children
  • Planned learning activities that are developmentally and age appropriate for the children
  • Specially trained teacher and directors, involved in ongoing professional development
  • Inclusive environments
  • Nutritious snacks
  • Effective and ongoing communication with parents and staff
  • Ongoing systematic evaluations

Accreditation is valid for five years. During those five years, the program should maintain compliance with accreditation standards, document program improvements, and provide notifications about major changes.
